The state government conferred
Hindi poet Gopal Das Neeraj with
the first Rashtriya Kavi Pradeep
Award for the year 2012-13 on
Tuesday.
The poet who is now in his early
90s regaled the audience with his
poetry despite ill health. The
award was given by Surendra
Patwa, Minister for Culture. While
giving the award, Patwa applauded
Gopal Das Neeraj for his immense
contribution in the field of
literature.
